As and When
As and When is a collaboration with two community groups based in Halton; the Women of Windmill Hill (WoW) and Widnes Golden Viking Generation Group. The groups geographically share borders with the River Mersey but are separated by the channel. The relevance of this is the two groups are under the same constituency but differ economically. Food banks were a recurring topic on both sides but interacted with them differently. Some used the food bank, and some volunteered.

The project revolves around the relationship between the two groups and the area itself. Themes identified between the group members address the current social and political climate. Health, isolation, wellbeing, and boundaries. The outcome manifested into a publication featuring the process of all what worked and what didn’t work; acting as a record of the process rather than focusing on a final outcome. Phase one of As and When formed two displays of different elements of the ongoing project; firstly at The Brindley and later the Open Eye Gallery. Phase two is penciled in between 2018-2020 and will partially be me taking a semi-permanent residence in the estate.
