Dad Rock(er)

My Dad has a longstanding relationship with music. In the 1970’s he was in numerous local bands which gigged across the country and even recorded an album as ‘Billy + Nine’. One of the ‘Nine’ included a dog. Recently he has rekindled his relationship with some old friends and started playing in a Jimi Hendrix cover band called Rory Hendrix Experience. I am documenting elements of his process, while mirroring my Dad’s actions and reflecting on previous life experiences myself. We are both on a journey of rediscovery. My parents live in the same house I grew up in and I now live away from Burnley. Place, Style & Identity, and Transient Spaces are unexpected recurring themes which were prominent just as much in my College education as they are today. This could be a long project.
