Guidepost Working Men’s Club is a typical social space often found scattered around smaller towns in the U.K. NOTICE was a collaboration with club members in the NE exploring themes of language, subconscious creativity, female roles in the club, alternative incomes and the unwritten rules that often dominate these small pockets of society.

The project identifies crucial complex networks and relationships that keep social clubs alive today. Works produced reflects how Guide Post Working Men's Club have had to adapt to the current economic and cultural climate; often done so in a creative manor. The outcome took the form of three happenings. A selection of works were exhibited at BALTIC: Centre for Contemporary Art and Woodhorn Colliery Museum. We also collaborated with the club members to host an evening of Bingo, Karaoke, Meat Raffles and Dominos.
